A little bit about me

I learned about Geohashing on December 31, 2008. And attempted my first hash two days later. My job as a science teacher severely limits my opportunities to wonder around. At any rate, I'll attempt as many hashes as I can try to keep readers entertained.

PS: My brothers are also in this ( Woodveil ). They beat me getting started.

Successful Geohashes (2)

On 2009-06-15. The second hash ever to be reached in the Jacksonville graticule.

Unsuccessful Geohashes (5)

	On 2009-02-28. Attempt number five. Check it.
	On 2009-02-22. My fourth attempt. The hash looked good. Success seemed within reach. Check it out.
	On 2009-01-25. My third attempt. The hash should be reachable, but still no success. Click and read my dramatic tale.
	On 2009-01-18. Two weeks since my last attempt, I now have a simple GPS and some time on my hands. The hash was close and appears to be reachable. Click and see what went wrong.
	On 2009-01-02. Being very interested in completing a geohash before having to go back work I checked the coordinates right at 9:30 EST. It was only six miles away. And in a location that I thought would be easily accessible. How did it end up? Click and see.

Achievements

by almost reaching the (30, -81) geohash on 2009-01-02.

by being prevented from reaching the (30, -81) geohash on 2009-01-25 by an impassable and unforeseen Classic Florida Swamp (and probably lurking alligators).

by failing to reach the (30, -82) geohash on 2009-02-28.

by reaching the (30, -81) geohash on 2009-06-15.

by reaching and returning from the (30, -81) geohash without crossing their own tracks on 2009-06-15.

-Hello! I have not actually been Geohashing, but I like the idea. Unfortunately I can't afford to be driving all over creation so I will most likely add/subtract 1/2 a degree to get coordinates closer to where I live. I also have a job that will keep me from doing any wondering during the week. What a drag. But I do plan to wonder around on the weekends. I don't have any kind of GPS so I will probably use googlemaps to get me very very close, which is good enough for me. This also means that most of my evidence will have to be accepted on good faith.

-I am an 8th grade science teacher who loves the outdoors. I ride my bike to work and love what I do. I am the assistant coach for my school's boys soccer team. But the season is almost over. I have lived in the same graticule (30 -81) for most of my life so I know a lot of the area. I just hope my bike can get me where I need to go.
