About half of this graticule is located in Switzerland (Kantone Aargau, Basel-Stadt, Baselland, Bern, Luzern, Jura and Solothurn), the other half is divided between France (Regions Alsace and Franche-Comté) and Germany (Bundesland Baden-Württemberg). Important cities in this graticule are Basel in Switzerland, Mulhouse in France and (partly) Freiburg in Germany. Dominant geographic features are the Jura mountain range, the Rhine valley and, in the very north east, a small part of the Black Forest.
