I think the numbering looks really terrible. -Robyn 05:34, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Be careful not to delete the quotations when you put them on the main page. What happened to the ru's quote about crawling through the snow the last 59 metres? -03:19, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

:Hmm, I simply did it so I could use a random number generator to pick which one goes up on the front page...I'm not real fond of it, though. Feel free to change it as long as it's consistant. Regards, Ted. -- UnwiseOwl 05:45, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Oops, I meant to do that. Not all quotes that make the front page will neccisarly make the quotes page, though, as the main page quote is designed to alert people to cool expeditions. However, I think the ru's fits, so I'll change that asap. Also, feel free to change either, yourself, as you read more expeditions that I do anyway.

I think we need a geohashing T-shirt. Maybe "XKCD" in FBI-like letters across the back and "Don't Worry. We're from the Internet" on the front. -Robyn 08:12, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

: I completely agree. Sounds like a great idea. Do you think we would need some kind of permission to do the letters like the 'college' style shirt that is in the XKCD store? Or would we just go for something different...--CJ 01:37, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

::I've been looking into how I could go about printing a "Geohashers: Adventure Capitalists" bummper sticker for a while, but I guess this sounds fun too. I don't care what it looks like, though, I don't do stylish.-- UnwiseOwl 01:49, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Regarding mothers... I have explained geohashing to my mother, and although she would never understand the MD5 hash algorithm, she does at least "get it", in that she can see why it's fun. I'm proud of her :) --macronencer 10:27, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

::: The T-shirt idea is brilliant. We'd definitely get two. Either T-shirts or geohashing hats. Or both. --Woodveil 04:07, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

To Mtu: I prefer the quote under the first picture on the geohash report, a thought I've had a number of times myself :-) -- Jevanyn 16:51, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

: Okay I'm definitely going to get to work on making this happen. Hit me up with suggestions for what people want! --CJ 06:49, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

::I don't believe that we need any sort of permission to use the letters XKCD. I'm not married to the text of the suggestion I threw up, just looking for something specifically geohashing. None of the xkcd t-shirts that is for sale really speaks to me. We should brainstorm for a while. Maybe the Google maps red teardrop ... "the Internet sent me" ... some original Ilpadre artwork ... what else? -Robyn 06:54, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

:::I disagree on the letters: I'd think Randall would want the name of the comic treated as a trademark.  But the typeface for something like this (DEA) should be public domain.  I'd love to see either the main page logo or Ilpadre's Holy Hash on a T-shirt! -- Jevanyn 15:32, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

:::I agree about needing something particularly geohashing. Ideas of the geohasher logo is good, as well as some of Ilpadre's artwork. I'm thinking possibly "Don't worry - I'm from the Internet..." for the quote.--CJ 04:01, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

::I doubt that Randall is possessive about the letters, seeing that he publishes the comic under Creative Commons . My favourite Ilpadre drawing is the Globalhash. I might just put that on a shirt myself. I wouldn't buy the Holy Hash shirt: it's a great logo, but I don't want to be wearing something that could be offensive to someone religious whose property I was asking to go on. I'd buy the geohashing logo guy, but I'd want some words too, if not xkcd, than something about the Internet. -User:Robyn 18:17, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

:::I agree, the Holy Hash logo would be too strange for non-geohashers. I'd prefer the Globetrotter (Liberty version) or the geohashing logo. The quote could be "geohashing", "the internet is here", nothing, ... - Danatar 09:09, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

::"Don't worry -- I'm from the Internet" is still my favourite quote so far for a t-shirt. -Robyn 15:40, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

::: Me too. (I've always wanted to actually post those words, and now I have.) But I prefer "... *We're* from ..." -- Benjw 17:17, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

:::: Hmmm. Maybe I don't. Whatever, I can live with it either way.  :-) Benjw 17:18, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
