Location
On a small road in the village of Altenhain near Leipzig.
Participants
Expedition
Reinhard drove to Leipzig after work to visit Manu and to go on a geohash bike ride together with her. Annoyingly, there were detours and traffic jams on his drive, so they could only start after 8 pm.
Cycling at a neat speed, it took less than an hour to get to the hashpoint. They really found the spot on a road, and it turned out that the speed limit in that part of the village was 30 km/h. Perfect opportunity for a speed racer achievement, isn't it? They tried it with Reinhard first, watching his GPS for the speed and holding the camera, and Manu closely behind him on her bike. Reinhard got a picture of the little arrow passing the hash flag on the map, while a speed of 29.9 km/h was displayed, with his first try. Nearly flawless result, so there was no need or use of trying it again.
On the way back to Leipzig they passed the Naunhofer lake, where they made a stop for a short swim at 21:45, before continuing their trip through the night.
