The '''retro expedition''' was interesting because the hashpoint had moved to the other side of the footpath. These systematic errors seem to be unavoidable so geohashers should not be too neurotic about zeroing the GPS coordinates. Indeed there is a facility with my GPS set to average several way-mark coordinate measurements, hours apart, to get improved accuracy. [[2015-12-01 52 1 | Previous]] - [[2015-12-02 52 1 | Next]]

The hashpoint was on a gravel path through woodland. The conditions were windy but dry and mild. The GPSr did not settle well but I was close enough.

The retro expedition was interesting because the hashpoint had moved to the other side of the footpath. These systematic errors seem to be unavoidable so geohashers should not be too neurotic about zeroing the GPS coordinates. Indeed there is a facility with my GPSr to average several way-mark coordinate measurements, hours apart, to get improved accuracy. Previous - Next
