Expedition

We just had Time Change Weekend and now it gets dark right at the end of the workday(I really wish we would just stick with the Daylight Savings time). Fortunately, with Veteran's day tomorrow, we got out of work early today. I figured I could also take the dogs for a hike at a county park on the way back to make the drive worth it. Right around 15:00, I shut down my computer and got the dogs ready to go. We didn't have to worry about getting lost on this one as Route 20 goes past Hamburg closer to Lake Erie and not too far away. We pretty much just followed 20 South all the way to the hash.

Navigating through Silver Springs, I turned on my GPS and got ready to get my proof which I succinctly messed up in the moment. I did get a screenshot of the Maps with less than half a mile to go, but switching over to the camera and setting the cruise control was a bit too much as I still needed to focus on the road. Pulling off and turning around, I just had my camera ready and set the cruise control as quickly as I could get up to speed. With moments to spare, I pointed my phone at my GPS and just took a video as I drove through the hash. Fortunately, it updated and held for a moment with just a 4 feet to go reading! I knew I could just save an image from the video later, but because I was driving, I wasn't able to get a picture of the hash area. I had planned to do that on the way back, but needed to redo the proof instead.

I then plugged in the directions to Franklin Gulf County Park near Eden and drove over there. Parking, I saw we had less than an hour until sunset so I set my alarm for about 25 minutes and we headed into the woods. Being so close to sunset and on the less popular side of the park, I didn't expect to see anyone and the dogs enjoyed their run. As a bonus, I was driving past a grocery store I don't normally frequent but needed some herbs that I ran out of so we made one last stop before home.
