I am for a week in the Provence, France, but not even on vacation. One of the joys of remote working. However, I didn't even had that much free time on my working days, but... This monday was holiday in Barcelona, and that meant I had not to work and the gods of geohashing were gracious enough to grant me a geohash very close to where I am staying (<8km) just on my 3rd day here! :)
So today in the morning I went there. Grabbed a bike I could use and went there. The day was fabulous. Sunny, not to hot.
The typical provence postcard are the flourished lavender fields. This happens however on ~July, now they have already been harvested. It is however so beautiful biking through them.
At some point I had to take some paths on areas of forest, and some of them had the cryptic message "Chemin interdit". I could naturally play dumb and make as if I couldn't understand its meaning or that it wasn't meant to me, but I am pretty sure it was meant for cars. Well, I took those paths.
At some point I wasn't sure which want to take. Should I approach from north or west? Took my first idea, since from north it was much close to a path on OSM, but I doubted because it meant going through some buildings (farms?).
Once there a sign said "Défense d'entrer". I played dumb again. Also I saw no one on those buildings. Final approach and I arrived on the edge of the field. If it was lavander, it had already been harvested and removed. No crops to damage. Walked around the edge and... Lucky me! Had I approached from west there was a fence there! I would have been really annoying.
But I was on the right side. Made the final approach and reached the point! Nice, first on 43,6, expanding our geohashing horizons!
After some pictures and proof, took a similar way back, this time avoiding the interdit chemins. Just in case.
