The tracks in Groningen actually ended there, that’s how far North in the Netherlands I was. The connection to Hoogezand-Sappemeer took a while, but nothing wrong with looking around in a new train station. | ||

What to do on a Sunday where you have no other plans? Look at graticules that you haven’t visited to see if you can reach a hash, of course!
Leaving Utrecht early in the day, I got in the train to Groningen. It was a long, uninterrupted drive there. The tracks in Groningen actually ended there, that’s how far North in the Netherlands I was.
