The achievement should clarify what a fire extinguisher is. Sand, Water and CO2 are excellent fire extinguishers readily available at most geohashes. -- [[User:relet|relet]] 20:47, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

:Please give an example how one would gather a significant quantity of CO2 to be able to extinguish a fire with it. I think gathering water or sand at the location isn't '''really trying''' (it's the same thing as bringing ice to claim a Frozen Geohash), also the latter could be considered violating the "natural integrity of the area". However, there seem to be http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_sand_bucket - maybe if such a dedicated bucket was brought on the expedition? There are also fire blankets. I think the equipment should be intended and approved for fighting fire. --[[User:The ru|The ru]] 06:53, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Do not start a fire at the hashpoint solely to give yourself an excuse to activate the fire extinguisher. --starbird 10:26, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

This made me laugh. It's so random, but you can totally see an xkcd character carrying a fire extinguisher around for no reason. With starbird's amendment I support this achievement. -Robyn 16:15, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
