Expedition

On 2020-03-07 I was going through old pictures on my phone and found some evidence of Geohashing. Like the 2019-06-28 expedition, apparently I Ninja'd myself a second time by not noting this on my User page.

I recall being surprised that the Hash landed closer, but on the same road as the previous week. This was going to be another Bike ride to an Official Saturday Meetup. Not sure what I was doing in the morning, but I probably got ready to go a bit after 14:00. It was a beautiful and warm summer day and the route was the same as the previous week. Getting up the big hill close to the hash, I was chasing a couple also riding their bikes. Passing them near the top, I said hello and we made some comments on how steep the hill was, but congratulating ourselves on getting up.

A short distance later, I found the Cemetery and pulled over. It is a small area enclosed in a triangle of three roads and the hash was a bit outside in some thick brush. Resting my bike on a tree, I confidently strode toward the hash down a semi-path in the weeds. That shortly ended and the ground turned somewhat mushy with a small stream running through. The foliage turned into very tall, water loving plants, so things weren't sharp and pointy, but it was still pretty thick working my way and attempting to do the GPS Dance.

I was able to get a decent reading using the HashDroid and I got some pictures. Working my way back to my bike, I definitely took a more direct route, but not sure if it was any easier. I decided to wander around the old gravestones for a bit while I had a small snack, before riding home. I don't remember any specific dates, but I do recall seeing some stones from the mid or late 1800s.

To extend my ride, I rode slightly further South and cut over on School St to Route 62 and ended up getting just over 25 miles in.
