Naturally, I had to get it. So I took to train to Ohldorf and decided to cycle the last 3.6 km through the cemetery (yes, it's that big) instead of taking the bus or train. I went in the wrong direction straight away and had to retract 450 m, but didn't lose my way after that. The cemetery was extremely busy with people and cars. I arrived at the hashpoint and found it to be only 7 m from the nearest tombstone, under a tree and beside a bush that separate a graveyard area from a footpath and only 27 m from the road. It was also only a little over 100 m from the tomb of extremely successful German bandleader James Last, though I missed the chance to visit it. I took photos and then went back to my bike, forgetting to lay a cross on the ground with sticks for future hashers, as I almost always do (indeed, MikroKosmos arrived only an hour later). Sorry, will hopefully not happen again! But I couldn't have stayed anyway as I had to be home in time, so I cycled back to Ohlsdorf station, stopping to look at the monument for the fallen soldiers of WW2 and the depressingly large war grave. I took the trains homeward, cycling from Ulzburg Süd instead of changing trains again. | ||

Expedition
MikroKosmos
Today the coordinates were on the cemetery Ohlsdorf in Hamburg. They were directly beside a way. So I took my bike and went there. It was quite cold, but ok for riding 10 kilometers to the coordinates. I reached the target at about 14:30. Near the bushes next to the walkway the GPSr showed the right position. I laid the GPSr down and made some photos. Afterwards I laid some crossed sticks onto the point. This geohash was easy-going. :-)

This is the first-ever geohash on Friedhof Ohlsdorf, world's largest city cemetery at almost 4 sqkm! It's so huge that the chance a hash landed there earlier is 91.5 %.
