A really cool note is that this graticule is 3 hours from the Outer Banks of NC and 3 hours from the gorgious Appalachian Mountains.  So, in one easy day trip, you can go from the Atlantic Ocean to the highest point east of the Mississippi River (i.e. Mt. Mitchell, 6,684 ft).

Chaz - No love for Henderson?

The N36, W78 Graticule

Other than what is obvious from the map to the right, this graticule boasts of a large line of granite west of the Fall Line which produces beautiful outcroppings remarkable for this region of VA and NC.

Wonderful places include Occoneechee State Park near Clarksville, Staunton River State Park NW of Clarksville, Kerr Lake State Recreation Area near the NC/VA line, Falls Lake State Recreation Area between Raleigh/Durham, and Eno River State Park north of Durham.
