This graticule is at latitude 52, longitude 14. It is currently inactive, but for some visits of neighbouring geohashers. While the graticule is by convention named after the largest town in the area, Frankfurt (Oder), half of the area lies in Poland. Other large cities include Kostrzyn, Slubice and Eisenhüttenstadt. The area is mostly agricultural and forested, with significant part consisting of the shores of the river Oder (Odra) and its surrounding natural reserves.
