Expedition
After visiting 2022-08-13 48 9 in Stetten am kalten Markt, I walked to Storzingen and took the train via Sigmaringen, Ulm and Mannheim to Neustadt an der Weinstraße.
The next leg was a bus to Kaiserslautern (I learned that the locals call it Lautern). The bus arrived almost immediately and filled up, but the bus driver announced that he had to take a mandatory break for an hour. Genius-level planning by his boss to send an exhausted driver, I must say. The other passengers were not amused either. I was particularly anxious since it stood to question if I would make it in time for the last train from Kaiserslautern to Saarbrücken. But the bus arrived in Kaiserslautern on time, and from there, I could take the train to Saarbrücken. While I was in that train, midnight passed and this Geohash became active.
From the station in Saarbrücken, I walked the rest of the distance. I crossed the river Saar and walked next to it for a while. After crossing a bridge over a highway I arrived at the destination, a university building of the htw saar. They had four flagpoles in front of their building spelling the word saar with a green, blue, red and orange flag. I located the coordinates at the flagpole for the red a.
After recording proof, I walked a bit around the campus on the other side of the main street and then back to the river to rest under a tree. It was about 1:30 now and I was pretty tired. I slept until about 4:00 and could not fall back asleep afterwards. Cars passed by on the nearby highway, and a few cyclists passed by on the path next to the river, and there was one guy who just walked by. I think I heard a ship or two as well, but did not get up to verify visually. At 5:20, I got up and did a bit of sightseeing since I had some time before my train would leave. I saw the Ludwigskirche and crossed the Saar, this time when it was light outside which made for better pictures. Afterwards I walked to the station.
From Saarbrücken, I took the train via Koblenz to Köln. The river Rhein was omnipresent for this part of the journey. In some places it looked fine, in other places half of it was dried up. From Köln, I took the train via Bielefeld back to Hannover.
