Expedition

I took the train from Sélestat to Strasbourg and started cycling toward Brumath. As I was exiting Strasbourg, I took a wrong turn and got distracted as I was considering turning back, when four things occurred to me:

The shared-use path in was cycling on had split into a cycle lane and a pavement separated by a curb.
The curb was applying a sudden force on my bicycle's front wheel.
I was no longer seated on my saddle.
The ground was approaching at a disturbing speed.

I extended my arms forward, duck my head, landed on my back and took a few minutes to contemplate my situation. My bicycle was surprisingly undamaged. As for me, I had minor bruises and abrasions on my hands, elbows, back and thigh.

I decided to do what any sensible person would do in this case, then changed my mind, and continued my journey. 14 km later, I arrived to a forest near Brumath. I left my bicycle, started walking in the woods, and reached the coordinates at 15:55.

The geohash was a nondescript location surrounded by trees, dead wood and anthills. While waiting for the official meetup time, I circled around the geohash to keep the ants off my shoes. Nobody came. I recorded proof and left.
