User talk:Excellentdude
Hello, everyone! Feel free to drop me a note here. :-) --excellentdude 05:47, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
- Welcome, excellentdude! Have fun in the wiki and outdoors! :D -- relet 22:01, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
- That replying question is a longstanding uncertainty in wikis. If you edit someone else's user talk, e will receive an email and a message box. That's good to keep in mind for important questions. Replying on the same (f.e. your own talk) page has the advantage of having a consistent discussion thread (and assumes that the other person has the page on its watchlist, or reads the recent changes anyway). People do both, at will and random. -- relet 23:01, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
Heh, regarding Relet's question, for example I came to your page to reply because I knew you were new and thus I couldn't count of you having your preferences set up properly to get a notification that I had replied on my own page. With a regular user I would have replied on the same talk as they asked. You probably got everything with the change you made, which sounds like a good change, and provided that you renamed the page with the move command and didn't just create a new one and delete the old one, anything you missed won't matter. The peeron page will update on its own in a few hours, maybe a day. It is linked to the All Graticules page. Welcome, and happy geohashing. -Robyn 01:12, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
Also I upgraded the Traverse City page a bit, with a map, and so people could tell who "I" was. It still needs you to add some details about the graticule. -Robyn 01:31, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, that wasn't me. It was from someone anonymous awhile ago. I was going to clean that page up and make it more like the other ones, but I hadn't gotten up there just yet. :-) --excellentdude 01:34, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
Woohoo! I went on my first geohashing trip today! More details to come after dinner. :-) --excellentdude 00:19, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Hey, everyone! Any ideas why I can't get all my ribbons to stick right on top of each other like the first two? --excellentdude 00:39, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
- There's some inconsistency with ribbon spacing. To remove the extra space, remove the newline between the }} (end) of one ribbon and the {{ (start) of the next ribbon. I've edited your page in case that's unclear (it probably is). --joannac 01:01, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
- Nope, very clear! Thanks! --excellentdude 01:10, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
