Three Geohashing Achievement Icons that can be earned.

As well as having the pure and genuine ecstacy of having reached a Geohash, many Geohashers like to compliment those feelings with the joy of having won an achievement. There are many different kinds of achievements, ranging from very easy to statistically impossible.

It is recommended that you take photographic proof to prove your achievement. This is, however, only important for proving to the community that you are an accomplished Geohasher and for many personal satisfaction is enough. Achievements are divided into three subsections. One section is for the comedic achievements, not very attainable and very unlikely anyone will do it, but still an achievement none-the-less. All other Achievements can be split into two groups based on the number of people that can attain the Geohash; "I'm Better Than You" Achievements and Basic Geohash Achievements.

Basic Geohash Achievements

Land Geohash

Everyone can get a Basic Geohash Achievement if you fulfill the necessary criteria and supply the necessary proof. Some of these come with physical prizes also.

• Land Geohash -- For getting to a geohash on land
• Water Geohash -- Probably requires a boat
• Air Geohash -- To geohash midair. Probably requires a hot air balloon or kite.
• "Mother Nature is my Bitch" Geohash -- Up a mountain, down a valley
• Pub Geohash -- Having a pint with your geohash
• Public Transport Geohash -- Taking the bus
• Underground Geohash -- Being underground
• Twister Geohash -- Playing twister OR encountering a tornado
• Thumbs Up Geohash -- Hitchhiking
• First Geohasher Geohash
• "Mother Natures Bitch" Geohash -- Didn't reach coordinates because of Mother Nature
• Origin Geohash
• Snowman Geohash -- Build a Snowman
• Bicycle Geohash -- Going by bike
• Police Geohash -- Encountered the police/park ranger/authority

"I'm Better than You" Achievements

"I'm Better than you" Achievements are the kind of achievement that only belongs to the best, that is, they have been to the highest mountain or the deepest cave, the coldest lake or the hottest desert to get a Geohash. Many of these require a level of extreme toughness (eg, highest), however, a handful of these take into account the story of how you got to the Geohash (eg, Sexiest). One each page there is a high score table, and if you're brave enough, it may finally be a way to immortalise that internet alias you use.

Proof

To win any of the above achievements, you must have photographic evidence. This photo must include:

1. A Stupidly Grinning Geohasher (you)

2. Something displaying the date

3. A Geosync device showing your location or alternatively

Something in the photo that proves your location.
