Plans

Hezekiah

Hezekiah scouted out the weekend's hashes Friday morning, and saw that Saturday's was rather attainable. Due to having multiple things already scheduled for Saturday, he felt like his best course of action would to head there Friday night.

RocketMac

Normally I scout the locations for the whole weekend on Friday, but somehow I managed to forget until Saturday morning when my automated script sent me the email that the hashpoint was less than five miles from work. I turns out I had been in that park on lunch breaks for geocaching, so I knew the area. I had also drawn the Saturday 9a-1p shift at work, so I was in the area.

Expedition

Hezekiah

Hezekiah left home shortly before 11:30 PM, had a basically uneventful drive along I-94 and I-16 (he saw a cop helping somebody change a tire, but that was about it). He parked on Bayberry Drive, about 100 yards northeast of the hash point. He jogged down, but forgot his flashlight and had to backtrack for it. A few cars drove by, but none cared enough to investigate. Hezekiah trampled something resembling a path a short ways into the brush lining the road and discovered that he was standing on the hash. Mission Accomplished, right at midnight.

RocketMac

In addition to work, I had an outing with my Little Brother at 2pm, so I couldn't go after work. Instead I double backed after my outing.

On the way there I received a text message from my friend J.J. in California. Since I was driving I couldn't text back, so I called her and we gabbed on and on the whole time. She had already heard about geocaching, but now I was telling her about geohashing in the hopes of getting her hooked. (Is it working, JJ?)

I pulled onto the side of the road to take pictures and GPS readings (nearly leaning off of it) and got out. It was just after 4pm, so if Hezekiah had not attempted a Midnight Geohash we could have had an actual meetup!

I always look for possible hash collisions or at least the nearest geocache, but in this case, I had all but picked them clean, including the one about 500ft away!
