Water Issue

The link for the alternative to water points is broken. The 'points west' rule also might not be the best as the shoreline near the south is very close to evenly E-W. A point a mere 10 m in the water can be shifted west by more then 20 km. Maybe a N-S solution would be better? Splitdipless 04:04, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Geohashing day 2011

So the coordinates are in the water. As such, we can go to the coordinates from May 21 for the years of 2010, 2009, and 2008 instead. 2008 is very far from Toronto, and 2010 is in water, leaving 2009. It's still around an hour and a half by transit from the University of Toronto, but I'm willing to go if someone else is thinking of attending. I have not yet decided if I'll go if it's just me.

So, anyone interested? To confirm, I am looking at the coordinates for May 21, 2009. -Srs0 09:53, 20 May 2011 (EDT)

I'd love to, but I'm in 44, -76 right now. (Splitdipless)

Ah, that's unfortunate. Good luck if you try an expedition there! -Srs0 10:54, 20 May 2011 (EDT)

I'm in Kingston right now and heading to Algonquin tomorrow, so unfortunately i also can't join in! :( --HiroProtagonist 11:06, 20 May 2011 (EDT)

Too bad. Have a good trip! -Srs0 11:10, 20 May 2011 (EDT)

In the end, I decided not to do it. The combination of it being a retro hash, an uninteresting location, nobody else going, and a four hour time commitment was enough to dissuade me. In particular, the fact that it would only be a retro hash is the part that really makes this uninteresting without other positive factors. Instead, I've decided to live vicariously through the Vancouver expedition, and to wear my geohashing shirt all day. Hopefully the coordinates are accessible next year. -Srs0 11:42, 21 May 2011 (EDT)

Mouse-over day?

Anybody else want to do something for mouse-over day? - Elbie 22:58, 22 May 2012 (EDT)
