From Geohashing
Welcome!
Glad to have you in the sport -- we have a hash collision achievement for when the stars align and you get to hash and cache in the same trip :) Just curious about the 48,7 location in your screenshot -- was that for 2021-01-03 48 7? Arlo (talk) 00:10, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hi! I'm not too sure about how to use the talk page, I guess I just have to edit this? Or should I do this on your page? Anyway, I was wrong. The marker I saw just next to me was the center of my graticule, and not the geohash. T_T
- I'll edit the page as soon as I can. Still, I definitely plan to go on geohashing when I can. Stardust (talk) 10:07, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

- Looks like you went on a classic Blinded by Science expedition. Don't worry, things like this happen. Good luck for the next time! --Fippe (talk) 11:37, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

I modified Template:ASG in order to deal with non-numeric ages. That is better than using 777, because for that there would have to be a new subcategory (for Geohashers in their 770s) in Category:Geohashers by age, but using NaN will now just put you in the category for Geohashers who do not wish to disclose their age. --Fippe (talk) 11:37, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- Ha, we just check special:recentchanges (and in Fippe's case also has template-wizardry). Although there are a fair number of geohashers still doing expeditions even a dozen years after the comic! I'd say it's really grown into a community separate from (although clearly connected to) xkcd fandom. Arlo (talk) 00:54, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
