Hello, I’m an autistic 21-year old from Darmstadt, Hesse, Germany.
On January 22, 2024, I turned 21 years old and discovered the concept of geohashing via the Wikipedia article on xkcd – I like xkcd and Randall Munroe’s books a lot … this is the stuff that really sparks my fantasy and passion! One day later, I visited the Geohashing Wiki and geohashing.info for the first time and discovered a new passion of mine.
Update from October 2024: My interest in geohashing has declined somewhat as there are a lot of other interests of mine that I want to invest time in. These include:
my work (which involves computer programming),
listening to music (after applying various effects to it in Audacity),
watching and editing my favorite movie,
reading TV Tropes.
Update from December 2024: From December 1 onwards, I’m not going to write any reports because it is a tedious and convoluted task which causes severe stress and eats up a lot of my time (the report takes longer than the expedition itself!) – I rather spend doing things which are more fulfilling!
Green guy! earned the Consecutive Bonza Bottler Day achievement
by reaching 2 geohashes in consecutive months on dates where the day number equals the month number: The first occurrence was the 2024-02-02 49 8 geohash; the second occurrence is the (49, 9) geohash on 2024-03-03.
by achieving a connection of 2 graticules in a row (49,8 to 49,9) after reaching the (49, 9) geohash on 2024-03-03.
Is it true that Green guy! earned the Meet-up achievement?
In principle, yes. But (unfortunately) he neither got permission to take a photo with the foreign woman he met at the hashpoint, nor to mention her name here. Also, the person is not a geohasher. These circumstances deny him from getting the Meet-up achievement (with the Drag-along achievement not fitting either) on this expedition (2024-03-10 49 8).
by being prevented from reaching the (50, 8) geohash on 2024-10-14 by an impassable and unforeseen river that was incorrectly mapped as a (passable) waterway=stream in OpenStreetMap.
for reaching more than 2 consecutive hash points because expeditions and their reports take up a lot of time and energy, which doesn’t suffice for long streaks at the moment.
