Expeditions

Richard

Richard lives less than 3km from the hashpoint, and is a friend of Benjw. When the weekend's coordinates were announced, Ben was vaguely thinking of going, and sent the coordinates to Richard, asking if he thought the woodland would be publicly accessible.

Not only did Richard answer in the affirmative, but he took the trouble to visit the hashpoint (albeit on the Saturday morning, a day early) and took a couple of photos!

Benjw

After Richard's excellent effort on the Saturday, Ben was encouraged to visit the hash himself. Accordingly, he arranged to meet Richard in Watford on the Sunday evening, with the intention of visiting the hashpoint just beforehand. Unfortunately it was a bit later than planned by the time he got to the hashpoint -- the M1 motorway was closed because of an accident, which meant that traffic conditions in the area were generally awful -- so he never actually met up with Richard that evening.

The hashpoint was visited, but it was getting dark by that time, so not many photos were taken. Ben also met a young family at the point -- not hashing, but searching the woodland for their missing cat, which wasn't found this evening either, sadly.

When returning to the car, Ben was alarmed to find that this might be a Police Geohash, but luckily the officer in question was more interested in a nearby house than in taking any notice of wandering geohashers.

Is it true that Benjw earned the puppet master achievement?
In principle, yes.
But the puppet visited the hashpoint on the wrong day (2009-03-15 51 -0).
