Plans

No plans are fixed yet. University lectures are in Adlershof from 11 am to 3 pm and I have in appointment in Charlottenburg from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm. So either in the morning, the afternoon or the evening. If anyone else wants to go there as well, tell me what time you prefer! I'm also thinking about doing a walking geohash from Teltow. --HiroProtagonist 09:57, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Do you think this one is reachable? I had a look at the coordinates yesterday and immediately dismissed this one as it's right inside a building (and although I can't tell what kind of building it is exactly I don't believe it's open to the public). - If you still want to try, I'd prefer going there in the evening, because I'm going to be at TU from 10am until at least 3pm. (Oh, and I'm all for walking!) Hessophanes 13:49, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure it's accessible, but there doesn't seem to be a fence and I thought this white building might be a kind of shed, which could probably be accessed or climbed?! Otherwise Geohash by proxy achievement could be a possibility, flinging a paper plane on the roof and pulling it back with a string would be one of the simpler solutions?! :D Concerning th time: I prefer to go geohashing daylight if the location is unknown. What about 4pm/5pm? --HiroProtagonist 10:26, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
Ok, by proxy might work. And if we go in the afternoon there might still be people around (which makes our expedition less suspicious and opens up even more possibilities, e.g. Ambassador). ;) 4:30pm? I've just returned from vacation and there's quite a lot of work to catch up with. - Any suggestions where we should meet? S Osdorfer Straße looks like the closest station (and it's still inside the city limits)... or simply at Goerzallee/Am Stichkanal? How are you going to get from Adlershof to Lichterfelde/Teltow anyway? :) Hessophanes 13:47, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
S Osdorfer Straße at 4:30 pm seems like a good plan. Form Adlershof I usually take S46 and S25, so Osdorfer Straße is easy to reach. Do you bring a GPS? (I'm still without one :/ ) What should we bring for the proxy?! --HiroProtagonist 15:09, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
GPS is no problem. Do you have a camera? The one in my cellular isn't great... - Hm, weather forecast reports only a light breeze from NW for tomorrow, so your paper plane might actually work. ;) I'll check if I have enough sewing thread (or anything else long enough) which we could attach... or maybe we can find something useful on site (or en route). Spontaneous creativity! :) Hessophanes 15:35, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
I could also go shopping after university. (this enormous Kaufland in Adlershof which I usually avoid, but you can get everything there) So tell me if I should bring thread, or any other spontaneous ideas... --HiroProtagonist 20:35, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
I might attend, too. Unfortunately, my camera has broken, so I have none. Yes, Hiro, bring spontaneous ideas (from Kaufland or wherever you usually get them)! :) -- lyx 20:56, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
Would be nice to see you there, lyx! :) I can't help with a working camera either :/ In daylight my mobile is working well enough for my standards though. --HiroProtagonist 21:54, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
I'm afraid Kaufland was out of spontaneous ideas today. But I will still come to osdorfer str. :) --HiroProtagonist 13:21, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

After taking a few pictures we left, and Hessophanes offered to take me to Charlottenburg in his car. At Zoologischer Garten, one weird coincidence made for a nice conclusion of this geohash: A crane! Okay, this in itself wouldn't be that astonishing in Berlin, but this particular crane was from the same firm whose name we had read just a few minutes earlier - on that crane parts cemetery next to the geohash!
