Location
In Köfering, on what looks like a farm yard or small industrial facility. Might not be accessible, but the option of meeting Dawidi in Regensburg still makes it worth trying.

The general idea
Robyn and Wade from Vancouver, Canada, are in Germany and plan to travel from the Heidelberg or Tübingen area to München. As can be expected from geohashers with attitude (GWA), they don't just take the straight connection, but want to (i) see stuff on the way and (ii) log successful geohashes while doing so. As of 2010-10-23, they are exploring BaWü with Ekorren and plan to leave his home graticule on Monday morning. Ekorren found out that it would be possible to meet dawidi in Regensburg, see lots of beautiful ancient bricks there and head on to this location before continuing on to München in 48 11. zb has the day off, so he can meet the group along the way. Schedules
We have been told that the type of extensive planning we have done in preparation for our adventure on the Eibsee ([[1]]) was in contradiction to geohashing being a spontaneous type of activity. How-firetrucking-ever. We will look into train schedules before starting, again! We will make the best use of Deutsche Bahn's confusing pricing structure, again. This is Germany, and we will show the Canadians an example of precision and efficiency they won't even see on one of those documentaries about high-tech engineering projects on Discovery Channel, where German technology is often involved with much precision and efficiency. This is what might happen:
- Robyn, Wade, Ekorren start in Tübingen around 9 am.
- zb starts in München around 8:30 or 9:00, and tries to meet them somewhere on the way to Regensburg.
- Everyone will meet dawidi in Regensburg, and we will walk around the town for a bit.
- We will head on to Köfering and check out the coords there.
- Most of us will then head on to München.

Both connections arrive in Ulm on the exact same train. The first one makes you leave 18 minutes earlier, but you have to make only one connection with all your luggage. There is another connection via Nürnberg (and not via Ulm), leaving Tübingen at 9:37 and arriving Regensburg at 15:29. Could be an option, if, for some reason, you can't get the connections above. But, as Ekorren already said, travelling along the Donau/Danube via Ulm should be a lot nicer.

Heading on to München via Regensburg to collect the luggage will not make the trip much longer. Seems like it's just ca. 15 minutes more than the connections via Landshut, so this is no big deal at all.

Tickets
Ekorren, for what parts of the trip will you have your own tickets? Are you using an IC/ICE from München to Ulm at night? I'm thinking about bringing a By-Ticket to Ulm, which would have to have my name on it, could be used by us throughout the day and would also be good for Robyn, Wade and me in München after we get to München Hbf. --Zb 18:13, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
