The globalhash tomorrow (Wednesday Sept. 5) is in the Clearwater National Forest in northern Idaho, off of US 12. Currently going to check out hiking trail presence nearby (local map-store) and if it looks good I'm planning on renting a car or SUV and doing this. Discuss/plan in the Talk:Globalhash ... -- OtherJack 16:07, 4 September 2012 (EDT)

Yowch, just drove back from that area on vacation. The Globalhash is at 6200', and when you say "off of US 12" it's really 15 miles off US12 in an area so mountainous that the Idaho/Montana border isn't even straight. If you go - good luck and bring bear spray! --Thomcat 18:01, 4 September 2012 (EDT)
Well, I just went to said local map-store (Metsker Maps) and, just as promised over the phone, they had a nice detailed hiking map of the Clearwater National Forest, eight hours to the east of here. I love those guys. Problem is, though, this map quickly showed me that there are no hiking trails on the mountain, Kellys Finger, which bears the globalhash on its north flank. Something like 5 miles of high-country bushwacking (each way) would have been required, in addition to the drive in on steep gravel roads just to get there tomorrow morning. So this is not happening. Probably saner that way anyhow, as Thom has pointed out while I was writing this update... -- OtherJack 18:10, 4 September 2012 (EDT)
