So I drove over to Newton, parked up at the end of Town Street, and set off up the public footpath which ran along a farm track over the fields. I've been down here before on a geocaching expedition, so I expected it to be rather overgrown and muddy, and I was certainly not disappointed. This got me within ten metres of the hashpoint, at which point I delicately walked out into the crops by placing my feet carefully between the rows of wheat -- there was just enough room not to break anything if I turned my feet sideways. After a few metres of this I found myself at the hashpoint, where I took photos and then retraced my steps back to the footpath. I then followed this new path back to the village, ending up just the other side of a house from where I'd started (albeit quite a bit muddier). | |
