Klaus

This one is quite close to my home (at least at the bird flies, don't ask about height difference). Will go there after work by bicycle. It will be a dark expedition again, ETA is around 19:00 (don't have time before).

Unfortunately, as Sourcerer pointed out, the direct hash seems not to be accessible, there seems to be be a fence around it. However, the hash is only 1m next to the fence, so this may be a candidate for the Geohash by proxy achievement. Will still be there at around 19:00, but maybe I'm lazy and take the bus to Pfrondorf and walk from there instead of going by bicycle.

Ekorren

I'll probably be there earlier, and bring a dragalong or two --Ekorren (talk) 05:27, 26 November 2015 (EST)

Expedition

MisterFog with HD

We left the office at 5 pm and arrived at Pfrondorf after a short trip by car (the weather was not so nice).

After parking the car, HD and I reached the hashpoint after a short walk along the road.

For the first time we meet another Geohasher, it was Ekorren, dragalong and a horse! They taveled by bike and horse! We had a nice conversation and they gave us hints to find and log the hashpoint.

Ekorren listed all the achievements we will get for this geohash (see the list below). I think that he knows all the available achievements :-)!

Klaus

Everything went as planned. Left at 18:40 and arrived shortly after 19:00 at the intersection. I stayed a little bit off at the beginning of the bicycle way to Dettenhausen until my glasses weren't misted anymore (I was sweating from the 120 height metres).

After a few minutes I walked to the geohash which I think was quite a little bit suspicious: A random guy, walking with a bright headlight between a guardrail of a busy road and a (with barbed wire) fenced area and taking photos of the restricted area. I didn't get what purpose this area had, it was way too dark... So I just took my two photos and waited 5min more at my bicycle if someone else would come (but noone did).

The way back was a delight going downhill all the time and took less than 10min for 3.2km!

Ekorren and dragalongs

I came by bike around 17:00 and met with Nelly01, who had been riding from the stables on the other side of Pfrondorf, thus completing the second Beast of Burden Geohash in the history of geohashing. Checking out the area we came to the conclusion that the hash is less than one metre into the fenced area, so reaching out with one's arm over the fence should be enough to reach it at least with the hand. So we decided to count this as reached. Just in case someone might try to prove different, we also did the suggested proxy geohash by tying an GPS unit to the end of a riding crop and holding it over the fence.

Just after we decided to be done, two figures came walking along the road towards us - geohashers! What a nice surprise to have an unexpected meetup.
