Expedition

I took the train to Salzgitter-Immendorf and walked the rest from there. On the way to the Geohash I walked through Drütte, another borough of Salzgitter.

The Geohash is located on the end of a street, and I was a little worried that it might be a private way belonging to the nearby large factory. Luckily, it was a normal street and I could easily reach the end. Two men were outside, doing some work on cars. I greeted them, located the coordinates and recorded proof.

One of the men told me that I shouldn't be ashamed to ask them for directions, since clearly I was lost. I told him that he won't believe me, but I actually found what I was looking for. Without me mentioning Geohashing, he asked me if I was Geocaching, he had seen something about that on television. I explained that I was Geohashing, no it isn't cannabis-related, it is like Geocaching but without the boxes. I think he believed me.

Afterwards, I took a different path back to the train station. This one did not lead through Drütte, but instead was more rural. A short segment was following a river. Eventually, I arrived at the train station and took a train home.
