Plans

I most certainly won't be able to reach the coordinates, since they have fallen on water and in the natural protected area (NSG) Insel Koos, Kooser See und Wampener Riff. However, since the location is pretty close from home and the area is really beautiful and worth visiting again and again, I will bike there and enjoy some Baltic nature and bird watching.

Expedition

This one of those expeditions, which even though the coordinates where not reached it could not be considered a failure. Well, to be fair, not reaching today's hash was the most plausible outcome, as stated on today's plans.

So, as usual, I grabbed Winterbuche in the morning and this time went north, towards Wampen, taking the same path as when I reached this near geohash one month ago.

In the bascule bridge in Wieck, an old one (1886), I had to wait for a while. This time it was not because some whip was crossing it, but I think for some maintenance work. It still works manually so it may need regular care.

After that, everything as usual. Sunny day but also windy, which help it not be so warm. Right before Wampen I took some time to capture some of my desired irrational coordinates, this time, being a normal coordinate: Champernowne's constant (you can't leave a nerd alone with a GPS). Took the needed proof and continued my way.

Once in Wampen I went towards the beach, to see how close I could get to the hash. This is a really beautiful beach which is also not so crowded, so if you are ever in Greifswald, you may consider going here. There were very few people. A group that, I later identified as a group of students (probably biology) with their professors taking samples (keep in mind that Greifswald is a university city), some bird watchers far better prepared than me and.. maybe some other couple, but not much more.

So I approached the hash, and ~410 meters away from it I reached the fence and sign which advises not to trespass, that it is a natural protected area.

Not disappointed since I foresaw this, I enjoyed once more being there, took some pictures, tried to identify the hash location from here and grabbed Winterbuche again. I went for another approach, maybe I could get closer.

I rode towards the field where I located on the expedition I mentioned before the irrational confluence NπE√2 (just ignore these side-hobbys of mine). I followed the edge of the field and found some nice tree stands from where I had some nice views of the Greifswalder Bodden. There I took some more pictures, and I got so like ~197m near the hash. That's as close as it gets without trespassing.

After that I rode my way back home, satisfied with today's expedition.

Video

Maybe. Although, sSince I was trying a new rear angle, footage may not be so interesting.

As suspected, next time I should point the camera higher. Nevertheless, here is the video on youtube (The part between Wieck and Wampen beach).
