Today's Geohash: Newport News, VA]

The Newport News, Virginia graticule is at latitude 37, longitude -76. It includes the cities of Newport News and Hampton, as well as part or all of James City, Isle of Wight, Surrey, Gloucester, Matthews, Lancaster and Middlesex counties. It also features the historic triangle of Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown, where the British settlements that eventually became the United States were first established. Much of this area is the beautiful Chesapeake Bay; it contains a sliver of Virginia's eastern shore and a section of Maryland's bay, including part of Smith Island. Rivers subsumed include the James, York and Rappahannock rivers.

Local Geohashers

Clint wishes either the geohashes would stop finding the Bay or he would get the ambition to rent a boat.

James supposes that it is, yes.

Mike wishes there were more local geohashers

Krip will be a seasonal geohasher in this graticule.
