Paul, Richmonder when school is out, can't think of anything better to do on Saturday then drive to some random location and hang out with other similiarly bored people. Might be working though...

Blaine, living in Southside this summer, could get into this.

James, real-life friend of Randall's since middle school, will try and make it Saturdays at 4 as long as it's not terribly far from Richmond-proper, using Ashland & Petersburg as rough north-south boundary points.

Andrew, from Short Pump, is going to give this a shot on saturday if he can convince his friends to come too.

Tyler, also from Short Pump, might do this since he could use the practice on his new bike. He will also will be working, though.

stepol (and their kids) from the Central Virginia Geocaching Association made a Memorial Day run to the Shady Grove location.

Julie is less adventurous than most xkcd people, and will gamely try to get there on Saturdays when not too much trespassing is required. Shoofle is often her companion.

Peter, from Glen Allen, is willing to give this a shot so long as he's back from college.

Upcoming Geohashing Proposals

Clint wants to see the trebuchet. He wonders what kinds of things will be tested, like a watermelon, a cat, or a slinky connecting a watermelon and a cat. The Pocahantas State Park would be an excellent alternative location.

James would like to clarify - while he finds Pocahantas State Park's field to be as good an alternate location as any, moving the trebuchet is difficult and could happen some Saturday, but probably not tomorrow. Regardless, there's enough to do in the park, though it's less free than prudence would generally dictate. Perhaps parking in the horse trailer gravel lot just west and south of the main entrance road could be advantageous for bringing fewer/one car(s) in and saving a couple bucks. (Or perhaps all attendees should just switch their car insurance to GEICO - James, for one, just saved a ton on his car insurance.)

Tyler is wondering why most of the locations are near the edges of the map, far away from people.

Paul thinks Pocahontas State Park sounds great - and has therefore suggested it as an alternate location. I might be a little late but I hope to see that trebuchet!

Randall comes to visit our humble graticule

6-14-2008: Peter read the blag and met up with Randall and Doug on Belle Island downtown since Aylett is a bit too far away. There was a kayak competition going on, and swimming was had by all despite nobody thinking to bring a swimsuit. Alternate meetup site = success. Pictures here

5-31-2008: Shoofle and Julie met up with Paul in Suffolk County Saturday afternoon for a nice visit and some time kicking around a soccer ball. We didn't get to exactly the right spot, but it was close enough. Pictures here
