The Roanoke Rapids graticule is a wonderful mixture of rolling farmland, small and large towns, forests, state parks, and the beautiful Gaston Lake.  It is home to large mammals (white-tailed deer and black bear), and migrating waterfowl.  A notable feature of this area is an ancient mountain range, now weathered away, called the Fall Line. This line is most noticable in the outcropings found at [http://www.ncparks.gov/Visit/parks/memo/main.php Medoc Mountain State Park].

The N36, W77 Graticule

The Roanoke Rapids graticule contains a wonderful mixture of rolling farmland, small and large towns, forests, swamps, a beautiful state park, and Gaston Lake. It is home to large mammals (white-tailed deer, black bears, coyotes, bobcats, and foxes), smaller and fuzzier critters such as opossums, rabbits and squirrels, and assorted indigenous and migrating waterfowl. A notable feature of this area is an ancient mountain range, now weathered away, called the Fall Line. This line is most noticeable in the outcroppings found at Medoc Mountain State Park in the SW corner.
