Building the actual graph is not that hard, the hard part is extracting the data from various user and expedition pages. And I don't see how that could be done by a script. Koepfel _talk 15:25, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, because if you just looked for user names in expeditions you would get me commemorating Meghan, mentioning relet, and being reminded of bears by Juventas. Also even if everyone mentioned on the page arrived, you have to read intelligently to tell if they were present simultaneously. You could however, ask participating geohashers to maintain a "Geohashers Met" section and be sure to include only names of people they have met, i.e. if they want to list "almost met" people, put them in another section. -Robyn 15:50, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Setting Out Together

How about the less interesting relationship: geohashers who set out with each other, even if they didn't meet any other people there. For example, my and YawnWithExcitement's trip to Ayr. –Matty 06:00, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for updating this so regularly! I imagine it must be a bit easier now that you have the Flash version because i see more frequent updates. I like this! Yes, it's a little easier, especially since I no longer have to update two graphs, the one on the wiki and the one on my server (used to be a HTML imagemap). And yeah, finding old meetups is a hassle. Koepfel _talk 20:55, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

Invalid license key or license file version!

The Flash application is not nice to me

That's weird, works for me., what exactly does it say? I never liked the flash version anyway, though, will switch back to a png-based one (and also start updating it again) Koepfel _talk

It looks basically like this, after zooming in or moving the graph, happens both in firefox and chrome using the Adobe Flash plugin 10.0.42.34 on x86_64 ubuntu 9.10 --Benpicco 00:41, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Updates

Since talk hasn't updated this in a while, I've been working on parsing the page, and made an updated version of this page itself at User:Hijackal/GraphPlayground. Are there any objections to replacing this page with mine? It isn't fully automated, but less than five minutes for me to generate a new graph, so if people remind me on IRC, there will be sufficiently frequent updates. Considering yours can be updated with less effort than mine (and considering that I've been lazy on updating it (and on geohashing in general)), I'm okay with replacing it. Though the list you generate your graph from is missing a couple old, inactive users whose meetups I dug up from their userpages by hand, before even starting to make the list. "Flaws" in latest version

Hey Hijackal, I just noticed some small problems in the graph. M and EmmJay don't have a color, shouldn't they be red? Also I'm missing a link from Mampfred to relet although the entries in the list look fine. Apart from that - good work! :) - Mampfred 04:07, 10 April 2012 (EDT)
