  • oppose, I don't think we need separate achievements for the many strange ways one could go to a hashpoint. --aperfectring 23:53, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Discussion

I support, but think that the requirement should be >50% of the distance is via Skate. Not all hashers live in a skate friendly area, and may have to drive/ride bus/tuk-tuk, etc to get to where it would be safe to begin skating. The 50% requirement would keep one from driving 100km, and then strapping on skates for 100m, but it wouldn't exclude hashers who live down a gravel road for example.--LuxMundi 14:56, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

The current requirement is "a significant part of the distance", which won't require you to keep the exact log. That won't keep anyone from riding half the way by bus either, if they can justify their desperateness. But it encourages people to their best, not just the required 50%. What's your opinion on this? -- relet 11:18, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

I really don't see the need to have an achievement for X strange way to get to a hashpoint. If we have a few people who fulfill these requirements, then I think we can revisit it. While all of the listed modes of transport would be amusing, I don't think we need an achievement for all amusing things to do while geohashing. If you want to do something amusing while geohashing, do it, write a good report, and we'll definitely take note. Gratuitous ribbons show up just a prettily on the expedition and user pages as achievement ribbons. --aperfectring 00:03, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
