Sorry I missed you when you hit Boise (even though we both made it to the same 2 hashpoints). If you're passing through this way again, put a note on the Boise, Idaho graticule page and a meetup of some sort can be attempted. I'm curious if you saw the geohash posters I hung near either of your Boise hashes?

And if you were continuing down I-84 after Boise, I hope you noticed that 42,-114 was near the interstate and very probably reachable on the 4th. --Eldin (talk) 02:52, 6 August 2013 (EDT)

Hi Eldin -- I thought it was fun asynchronously hashing with you. It's always hard for me when traveling to figure out when I'm going to get somewhere -- I drove 300 miles to get to the Eagle site, for instance, and wasn't sure I would get there until I got there. Well, in truth I find it hard to predict when I'll get somewhere on my home turf, too. In 126 expeditions (as of yesterday), I've never actually "met up" with someone, although I've found or left evidence a dozen or so times. I DIDN'T see posters, which is odd, since I was looking for evidence both times. Was your poster on the street side on Sunday; I stayed on the parking lot side there.

I looked pretty hard at 2013-08-04 42 -114, but there's a line around the area marking a change of vegetation. That says "animal pen with a barbed-wire fence" to me, so I gave it a miss.

It's nice to see you burning up the Boise graticule. I was off geohashing for a year, but have been enjoying my return to the game for the last few months. Maybe I'll bump into you at some random point down the road. Michael5000 (talk) 09:17, 6 August 2013 (EDT)

At Saturday's site, the poster was impaled on a twig stuck into a fencepost near the hash. The wind wanted to blow it around to be facing upward/away from the street. If you look at the picture of Ojones and family you can see the poster just to the right of them. At Sunday's site I brought thumbtacks to be able to post it more firmly, but the nearest place I could find to tack it up without trampling plants was the phone pole beside the exit from the parking lot (visible from the hashpoint, but not super obvious). So I'm not terribly surprised that you missed either of them. And I'll be passing through Portland, and then staying a week in Netarts (McMinnville, Oregon graticule, on the coast) at the beginning of September, so perhaps I'll run into you or another Portland area geohasher on that trip. --Eldin (talk) 19:07, 6 August 2013 (EDT)
