Expedition

Happy new year!

There was a leisurely drive to kill a bit of time. The route led past my old house where I used to live in west Norfolk so there was a bit of nostalgia. There was a place to park on some hard standing in front of barns. I set off a large guard dog; something I prefer not to do if possible. The walk led along a narrow lane and then left into the field on a perimeter mud and grass track. At about five minutes before midnight, I wrapped up against the cold and waited in the watery mud. At two minutes to midnight, the fireworks started but there were none close by. At midnight there was a dramatic increase in the firework noise but none were visible. My field was surrounded by tall trees. I got the evidence photo and departed for home taking extra care with the traffic. Some of the drivers might have had more than a safe amount of alcohol but I didn't see anything looking dangerous.
