Grab my Winterbuche in the morning, and bike toward Gützkow. Goals of today are: visiting the hash in graticule 53,13 and therefore discovering my neighbour graticule :), also take a picture on the N54º parallel, go for some caches, visit Gützkow and... well, enjoy the sunny day :D
Expedition
Living somewhere near the south edge of my graticule, it was a matter of time that I eventually go to the south neighbour graticule to discover a hash. 53,13 has been patiently waiting for me, and today was the chosen day.
The hash fell in Gützkow, little "city" near the Peene (river). In a moderate distance by bike, but doable if planned :) So woke up, prepared some sandwiches for lunch and grabbed Winterbuche, my bike. Go through some known paths, I started my way. Sunny day and just after 30 minutes I started to worry that maybe I should had taken some sunscreen with me. Luckily I didn't end up needing it.
Just where the town of Behrenhoff ended I accomplished my first goal. Parallel N54º. We meet again. This time I took a picture as souvenir. After Behrenhoff the landscape started to be undiscovered by me. Some new paths. I like this. My surprise was that after only 1:45 hours of diligent pedalling I was already in Gützkow. Wow, that was quick. I thought it was more far away looking it at the map. Or maybe I did not have many distractions. Nevertheless, in Gützkow I could accomplish my second goal. The hash.
It fell in front of a house in the street. Easy enough. Went there, waited for some accuracy on my satellites and confirmed my expectations. Coordinates reached at 12 o'clock! Hearing the nearby church bells. :D Everything going as planed.
Once there in Gützkow I took the chance to visit the town. In the church was having place what seemed like a celebration. Maybe a wedding or baptism. It looked like a happy celebration. After that I went to the Kosenowsee. Aaah, such a peaceful place. The silence and the nature and the wind moving the leaves. The perfect place to find a quite corner and have my lunch. And rest my legs. Beautiful.
After that, I went to have some coffee and cake. A must in Germany after lunch ;) However, Sunday and a little town... not easy to find a place where it can be served. But it was no place to give up. After visiting every corner on the city I found a famous german supermarket chain with an attached bakery. Bingo.
After some coffee and reading to gain some energy I was fit again to face the way back. No new stories here. Undid the path I did in the morning and before I was aware I was already home. And satisfied. With a new visited graticule.
