Probabilities

The probability of passing a hashpoint on a 50-graticule flight is 22.2%, not 25%; Sourcerer's maths were out. Explanation. Still pretty good, though, and I'm going to have to look at a couple of my recent long-distance flights to see if I can spot them! I've previously tried to take my GPSr on planes but it doesn't work reliably; I'd not thought of using a flight-tracking tool! --DanQ (talk)

I took it for granted and never bothered to check the math. Good work you did there! I also try to take my GPSr, but more out of faith than real hope. I am not really sure if my eTrex-10 would work even sitting in the window and in optimal conditions (at least it never did for me). There are some known issues as the altitude and speed of the aircraft which make it difficult. But the flight tracks you can find on the internet are quite precise! --SastRe.O (talk) 20:39, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
