Everything until 2009-12-31 is archived on my page for old talk.

Even though this looks very clean right now, please feel free to leave a message below.

2011-02-27 in (47-48) and (10-12)

Sunday 27 Feb Geohash - NOT just a short walk south from Rohrbach, on RE 59096. Interested? What time? I'm in Munich for a conference until Monday. --Thomcat 02:25, 26 February 2011 (EST)

Pinged most regional participants, up for nearly any geohash on Sunday. Have some work to do in the morning. Staying at the Hilton (Rosenheimer Platz) and I have a weekly Bahn pass, so let me know where you want to meet up on Sunday. Oh, planning to have breakfast at Wirtshaus in der Au, 10 am. Tschüß! --Thomcat 05:24, 26 February 2011 (EST)
Leaving München around noon seems fine for me, too. It would be nice to meet folks in Regensburg (dawidi is quite active and maybe we didn't scare Tanya enough on 2010-10-25 48 12 so maybe she's also up for adventures). If someone is going there, we could go to 2011-02-27 48 12. Let's see what they will be saying. Also, a hike around the South end of the Ammersee would probably be really nice. We could go to Dießen (trains from München Hbf leave every hour at :51, total trip to Dießen is one hour via Geltendorf) and take a nice long walk to Herrsching. I suggest we wait if other suggest any plans today and decide then. --Zb 05:42, 26 February 2011 (EST)
It would be nice to see dawidi once again. --Thomcat 05:45, 26 February 2011 (EST)
Ooh, i didn't see you were already discussing options here - i just emailed Thomcat after he suggested 48 12 on my user talk. My suggestion would be 48 13 (near Regen) - that point is in a forest, so much more likely to be accessible, and on the way we get a much nicer landscape, even including the ruins of an old castle from which we should have a good view. 47 11 looks like a really long walk along a main road... --dawidi 08:30, 26 February 2011 (EST)

New Reports

We could create a "Recent report" category, and have stuff in there for a while. Of course, the other approach is go to "Current events", pick the "today" page, and then keep going back a day at a time. Doesn't cover recently updated, but old in time reports (like a couple that I need to update,) though. Jiml 21:16, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

I think another category would make things just more complicated. Using the categories of all the dates isn't that hard... --Zb 18:10, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Schwäbische Alb vintage railcar tours

Hi,

in case you still might be interested in those... there is a hash on monday near Balingen, that should be possible to combine with some of the Schwäbische Alb sunday specials. A HzL MAN railcar is running on Eyach-Haigerloch-Hechingen, class 798 railcars on Schelklingen-Münsingen and Münsingen-Kleinengstingen. Also some more specials with modern trains. Baden-Württemberg-Ticket or Wochenendticket are valid on all of them. --Ekorren 10:20, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi Erkorren, thanks for telling me. Sounds like fun indeed, but I've already made plans to go on a hike with friends in the mountains S of München on Monday. Not even a geohash, I have to admit. At least we will not use cars but travel by trains. No vintage types, though... --Zb 10:35, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

2011-08-14 48 8: I have no idea whether this would still be interesting for you. If so, this sunday is another chance: The hash is located between Bisingen and Engstlatt, and the MAN railcars are running on Hechingen-Eyach. I'm not exactly sure what will be running on Schelkingen-Münsingen, Münsingen-Kleinengstingen will probably be the usual "Ulmer Spatz" class 796 railcar. I'm considering to visit the Bisingen hash, whether combined with a MAN railcar trip or not. --Ekorren 17:00, 12 August 2011 (EDT)

Sunday-Monday

See my talk page for discussion about the next few days. My e-mail is not working, and the Canadian provider isn't being helpful about it. -Robyn 16:14, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

2010-10-25 48 12

Hi ZB,

I would like to join you in this trip to Köfering. I just learned about geohasing and I think its a funny way to meet people and to explore the area. As I am new to Regensburg and know almost nobody and nothing here, it is right for me :) So may I meet you, guys, at the Regensburg HBF?

Best, Tanya.

We'd love others to join in. I have tried to offer some train connections in the planning section at 2010-10-25 48 12 and suggest to still wait for messages form the folks arriving from Tübingen, but my guess is that we arrive in Regensburg at 15:12 on RB 32373, go for a walk around town, head on to Köfering at 17:16 on RB 32529, check out the coords kind of quickly and hop on RB 32530 at 18:51 to get back to Regensburg. It's probably best to continue the discussion at Talk:2010-10-25 48 12, so the entire crew will know about everyone's plans. This meetup will be special because of the guests from Canada, so it should be a good start for you, geohashing-wise. Please excuse that we're a bit kleinkariert with the schedules, but we try to squeeze quite a lot of sightseeing and geohashing duties into the day to make the Canadians really, really tired, eh? Ekorren is out with them in Tübingen today, I think, so it might become somewhat late before they post or confirm their plans today. --zb 12:39, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

GPS

Hey there, congrats on your new piece of equipment! I'm currently trying to update/complete some old stuff and, of course, visit some nice spots when there is time and chance. Maybe we'll see each other at one point or another. I'll be trying to post my plans on München, too, in case I have some. The T-Man 11:16, 3 February 2011 (EST)

Yes, I really should start putting it to some good use, i.e. finally go geohashing again. I'm just really swamped with other stuff these days, but my intentions are nothing but the best as far as geohashing goes. I'll also try to use München for posting plans. And thanks for cleaning the München page. --Zb 14:26, 3 February 2011 (EST)

I just about told Anonymous to "put up or shut up," you know where. It's funny: my normal way to approach griefers is what happened with Mark, assume they actually have a point and encourage them to make it. Mark stepped up, but this guy I'm surprised even came back. -Robyn 13:42, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

(Ok, I'll try to put it in a way that's not search-engine friendly and try to avoid the key words that might lead to you know where...) Wow, I guess Anon lacks the device with the little bright thingy that un-sets in cases where bigger damage is likely to happen...
I'm thinking they've already un-set. Thanks for the sympathy.
Well, it's not like I've never said stupid stuff myself (apologies where they apply!), but at least I think I try to stop being a wiseguy after I've been told a I act like one. --Zb 15:41, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
Everyone is entitled to say stupid stuff, it's just rude to say someone is all wrong and then not produce any credentials or proper rebuttal. At least he's staying on that one thread.

2011-04-30 47 13 - not de-virginizing Salzburg

Would you be possibly interested in joining? --Ekorren 11:19, 29 April 2011 (EDT)

Sorry, just found out that Salzburg is not virgin - it's just that the one who did an expedition there didn't link it anywhere. Still considering to go there, but under these circumstances there might be other options as well. --Ekorren 11:58, 29 April 2011 (EDT)
Aplologies for not joining. Mar and I are invited to a friends' wedding (no, not in England...), and the only chance for us to go geohashing tomorrow would be if the coords were exactly there (or on our way), both of which they're not. BTW: Thanks for your continued efforts to keep your hash inquiry tool on current servers and in a well maintained state. I would miss it if it would be gone... --Zb 16:31, 29 April 2011 (EDT)

2013-01-21 48 11

Hello, zb, long time no see! Would you be inclined to join a (already rather sizeable) group of geohashers near Aidenbachstraße tonight shortly after eight? Also, best wishes for 2013, if it's still socially acceptable at this time ;) -The T-Man 02:56, 21 January 2013 (EST)

Thanks for letting me know - sorry, I had a really full day today. --Zb 16:21, 21 January 2013 (EST)
