In graticule 49/8 the Geohash of Sunday, January 25th 2009 is located in a quarter of Karlsruhe named Waldstadt. It is in a small street called Küstriner Straße

Given the fact that today's hash was located in a tiny street at the outskirts of Karlsruhe, it was easy to locate it with google maps' satellite pictures only. In addition to meeting Koepfel at the hash, I brought along three more people and my little daughter in her bicycle trailer. One of them already came along with me to hashpoint 2008-11-28_49_8, my daughter was with me on 2009-01-05_49_8.

Fluxkompensator earned the Meet-up achievement by meeting Koepfel at the (49, 8) geohash on 2009-01-25.

Fluxkompensator earned the Drag-along achievement by dragging two friends to the (49, 8) geohash on 2009-01-25.

Fluxkompensator earned the Bicycle geohash achievement by cycling to the (49, 8) geohash on 2009-01-25.

Fluxkompensator earned the No Batteries Geohash Achievement by reaching the (49, 8) geohash on 2009-01-25.

Fluxkompensator earned the Land geohash achievement by reaching the (49, 8) geohash on 2009-01-25.

I reckon this tiny street seldomly sees so many visitors at the same time.

Koepfel

Planning

For my very first Expedition, I plan to arrive at the Hash at about 13:30, hang around for a few minutes and then take the 13:46 bus from Kolberger Straße. Also, I've been there before on September 5th 2008, so it might qualify as a Déjà Vu Geohash, though I can only supply a photo taken 100 meters away from the Hash in an anjacent street. Does it still count as proof?

Afterwards

I left my home at about 12:55, then took Tram Line 4 to Waldstadt, departing 12:58 at Hirtenweg. [1]

Koepfel earned the Public transport geohash achievement by reaching the (49, 8) geohash on 2009-01-25 via Karlsruhe Tram Line 4.

I arrived at Jägerhaus at about 13:06 [2], then continued by foot and took a few photos on the way. I arrived at the Hash at about 13:17 [3], located on a driveway in front of a garage. This [4] picture shows the current coordinates, the next one also shows a screenshot, which is more readable

A few minutes later, Fluxkompensator and friends arrived. We chatted for a while, took some pictures for the Meet-up-Achievement (see Fluxkompensators image)

At 13:40 I headed to the bus stop Kolberger Straße. From the stop, I took the photo for my Déjà Vu Achievement: Compare these two: today and September 5th 2008.

I also posted the message above on my phone. However, when I tried to log into the wiki, I get a warning about not having cookies enabled (which I did). I still got to work on that.
