The Carlisle graticule is at latitude 54, longitude -2. It encompasses parts of Lancashire, Cumbria, Yorkshire, Northumberland and County Durham, including Lancaster and Carlisle. The graticule is extremely rural, containing parts of the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Pennines. Highly remote geohashes of natural beauty should be expected!
Bank Holiday Geohashes
- Sunday: a farm house near Hexham (map). For those at the Lancaster end of the graticule, Manchester offers a closer alternative (map)
- Monday: a field near Penrith (map). Again, there may be a better alternative for some just outside Chorley (map)
- Tuesday: the new rules give us a stream just outside Wennington, within walking distance of a train station (map)
