There are a few ways to find your local graticule page. If you live in or near the largest place around, chances are your graticule is named after that city. Go to the map on [http://www.xkcd.com/geohashing this page], zoom out, and scroll around the world as necessary to find your home. Click on it so that a red rectangle appears around it. If your graticule has been named, the name will appear at the bottom, in a row beginning with the words '''Wiki pages: Day /  Meetup /'''. The name is a link that will take you to the graticule page. If there is no name (you may need to wait a moment for it to appear), or if when you click on the name it takes you to an edit box instead of a page, then no one has yet created a page for your graticule. You have the honour of being the first geohasher there. You are still 'invited' to that day's location, but you'd best bring a friend if you want company when you get there.

Upcoming Meetups

You too can have this much fun.

xkcd local meetups take place every Saturday at 4:00pm (local time) in your local graticule, when the location is accessible.

Locations

The coordinates for the Saturday meetups on 23 November 2024 are now available. The coordinates for the next Saturday meetups, scheduled for 30 November 2024, will be based on the Dow’s opening price published at 09:30 EST (14:30 UTC) on Friday 29 November. See timeanddate.com to convert this time to your local time zone.

Please check your local graticule page for more details about meetup organisation, fellow geohashers, etc.

Finding your graticule page

There are a few ways to find your local graticule page. If you live in or near the largest place around, chances are your graticule is named after that city. Try typing its name into the search box to the left. Click Search (not Go). If you don't find a page there that describes the one degree square in which you live, then try the map.

Go to the map on this page, zoom out, and scroll around the world as necessary to find your home. Click on it so that a red rectangle appears around it. If your graticule has been named, the name will appear at the bottom, in a row beginning with the words Wiki pages: Day / Meetup /.

Here's how to create a graticule page to encourage more people to participate in your area.
