I hadn't actually expected the hash to be accessible, since the aerial photos showed it about 5 m into what looked like a building. I went there anyway. When I came in to Riederich from [[2010-06-25 48 9|the previous hash]], it was well before midnight, so too early to actually visit the hash. I circled the hash site, and found that the truck parking at least wasn't fenced, and neither seemed to be watched. After that, I went for a small round elsewhere to kill time and maybe try a little bit more of night photography.

A few minutes before midnight I returned, parked the bike between the trucks and switched off all lights to avoid being seen. I rather didn't want to make that a police geohash. In the gloomy bright moonlight, between dozens of trucks, I tried a few more photos, and then tried to find how close I could get without trespassing into some garden. This was much closer than expected, actually - I finally found a place where the GPS averaged in to about 1m, over several minutes, so this wasn't just a matter of a GPS dance. With that, I'll call it reached and assume that google maps simply was a bit inaccurate here. I didn't make a photo of the exact point, though - because I would have needed to use the flash for this, and given that there were definitely people awake in the house at the other side of the hedge, a flash at that point probably would have drawn attention. And I still didn't want to draw any attention.

Expedition

I hadn't actually expected the hash to be accessible, since the aerial photos showed it about 5 m into what looked like a building. I went there anyway. When I came in to Riederich from the previous hash, it was well before midnight, so too early to actually visit the hash.

Went back basically the same way as I had been coming, over the hill to Mittelstadt and home along the Neckar valley trail, through the magic moonlit darkness. Stopped at the Kirchentellinsfurt lake to listen to nightly concert of frogs and toads, and finally was back home at a few minutes before 2.

Things I learned today: With a decent light, nightrides are actually fun.
