Needs work - I would suggest the requirement that it must be either in a particular location (making for a good photo), or in public. Just lying down is too easy, and not in the spirit of the original idea (which was to startle people, and be creative in lying down). -- relet 10:12, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Needs work - If you confine this achievement to your hashpoint falling in a quite crowded public area this would make sense to me in the spirit of the original idea, so maybe change it to: "the hasher should lie face down at the exact hash location, with the palm of their hands held against their sides and their toes touching the ground and attract the attention of at least -insert number here: 3? 5? 10?- non-geohashers while doing so"--HiroProtagonist 17:29, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Do not oppose - this reminds me of the vacation taken by a giant robot in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. -- LoneTech
Needs work - I agree with HiroProtagonist's idea, and it's definitely a Support if it's changed. Perhaps an amendment of "or in a difficult position" could be added though; e.g. underwater, or atop a mountain. Then again, it also may be a bad idea to promote dangerous stunts.
Oppose - I think this would be an awesome thing to do at a very public hashpoint, but I don't think we need an achievement explicitly for this. A gratuitous ribbon should be enough. --aperfectring 22:45, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Oppose - Feels like this fad might have died out, and I'm not aware of a particular reason to keep it alive (e.g. an XKCD comic referencing it!) --Dan Q (talk) 10:57, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
- Mild oppose for the same reason, but it's kind of funny how the main image of the Wikipedia article for the game is a geohashing photo. Don't think that's a worthy reason though, just funny. --January First-of-May (talk) 18:29, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
