Expedition

Finally an expedition in the city that has the name of this graticule. And a seemingly easy hash. Right at the entrance of the Campus Mar (Sea Campus) next to the beach.

The weather seemed anything but beach inviting. It stormed in the morning and it has been very windy all day long. But foolish of me, I saw some guys with their surf boards going there. They saw it as an opportunity.

I went there first with the railway to Plaça Catalunya and there walked a little to the subway station only to ride it for three stops. After that I had to walk no more than 10 minutes and was right at the entrance of the mentioned building.

I had no GPS with me in order to grant me the No-Batteries Achievement. I kind of memorized the location and saw in OSM that it was between two bicycle parking spots. I also walked up and down the area to make sure I walked over the hash ;)

I could argue that I also earned a Déjà vu geohash achievement but I have no proof. It was the 30th August 2016. I went to the German consulate for some personal business, which is two blocks north from here, and after that went for some geocaches towards the main train station which is ~500m west from here, and I passed by the hash location for sure, but the geocache I was searching more or less in this area didn't appear and I didn't log it online -and it's now archived-. So, no proof.

After that I went for a geocache near the water tower that is no more than 100m south from the hash. And continued with the no-batteries theme, I memorized the location of the geocache and luckily I found it easily. Took a picture of the tower to share it with you, and after that I took the same path to go home. Subway and railway. Again in Plaça Catalunya the sun was about to set and the lightning was really beautiful. However, I took no picture to show you this time, sorry.

Is it true that SastRe.O earned the Déjà vu geohash achievement?
In principle, yes.
But has no proof since he didn't find -nor log online- the geocache he was searching in this area the 30th August 2016 (2021-01-22 41 2).
