Local Geohashers
Paul, Richmonder when school is out, can't think of anything better to do on Saturday then drive to some random location and hang out with other similiarly bored people. Might be working though...
Blaine, living in Southside this summer, could get into this.
James, real-life friend of Randall's since middle school, will try and make it Saturdays at 4 as long as it's not terribly far from Richmond-proper, using Ashland & Petersburg as rough north-south boundary points.
Andrew, from Short Pump, is going to give this a shot on saturday if he can convince his friends to come too.
Tyler, also from Short Pump, might do this since he could use the practice on his new bike. He will also will be working, though.
stepol (and their kids) from the Central Virginia Geocaching Association made a Memorial Day run to the Shady Grove location.
Julie is less adventurous than most xkcd people, and will gamely try to get there on Saturdays when not too much trespassing is required. Shoofle is often her companion.

Upcoming Geohashing Proposals
Clint wants to see the trebuchet. He wonders what kinds of things will be tested, like a watermelon, a cat, or a slinky connecting a watermelon and a cat. The Pocahantas State Park would be an excellent alternative location.
James imagines this will be too time-/labor-intensive for this Saturday, but imagines that if there were to be an alternate location in, say, Pocahantas State Park, the trebuchet pictured in this blag post could be tested and tuned out to its theorized 500+ foot range. He has this Saturday off, and could make it to Saturday's location at 4, if it weren't so far north. He wonders if anyone has a proposal for a alternate location in the city, Southside, or West End, as he has no personal druthers.
Tyler is wondering why most of the locations are near the edges of the map, far away from people.

6-14-2008: Peter read the blag and met up with Randall and Doug on Belle Island downtown since Aylett is a bit too far away. There was a kayak competition going on, and swimming was had by all despite nobody thinking to bring a swimsuit. Alternate meetup site = success. Pictures here
