Much of this graticule is dominated by the wheat-growing plateau of north central Oregon, the large fields and deep canyons of which make it challenging to geohashers. The national forests at the southern end of the graticule offer better public access, while the irrigated agricultural area around Hermiston to the northeast is supported by a denser network of roads and towns. The northern part of the graticule is bisected by the Columbia River Gorge, beyond which is a thin strip of the state of Washington. Today's location
