Plans
- What about a 3-day Consecutive geohash achievement, plus Midnight achievement and even (if lucky) snowman achievement ? vermouthandgin and I are planning to attempt this opportunity of double geohash in 48,11/48,12. We would aim for the first at around 11:30 p.m. If we do the expedition or not will still depend on the weather not becoming worse. — Zertrin 08:51, 12 January 2013 (EST)
- Er, wow, that's very ambitious of the two of you. I actually hadn't given a lot of thought to the locations for 12-14th Jan. Without a car readily at hand, they all seemed quite impractical to do. Unfortunately, I'm swamped for tomorrow, but usually weekday afternoons work quite well for me. In case you're still on it, good luck and have fun with the snowman (because it really is fun). -The T-Man 14:38, 12 January 2013 (EST)
Expedition
We went by car as close as possible to the hashpoint without difficulty (the little roads being covered by snow wasn't a problem as I had snow tires) and then just walked up to the hash in a straight line through the field (which, during this winter season had no crops and was only covered with snow).
We reached the hashpoint at 11:30 p.m., took the mandatory pictures and than headed back quickly to the car in order to try to be at the next hashpoint for midnight and thus achieving a so-called midnight double.
