What I like even more are the signs that start with "POSTED", in some important bold face font. Like, dood, what else than firetruckin' posted could a sign be anyways?--Zb 19:14, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Thank you! You've described perfectly how ridiculous those signs are. I've seen ones that only say POSTED with no indication of what they are posting. It must be related to some arhai American law about posting things. -Robyn
I've asked US-Americans about those signs starting with "POSTED", and they didn't get (as in: really didn't get at all) what might be weird about them. But... the ones saying nothing but "POSTED", can you buy them like this in hardware stores, or do you have to cut off the stuff that's actually to be posted?--Zb 19:31, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
I don't know. I've seen them on trees. It didn't look like there was anything cut off the bottom, but I couldn't say for sure. -Robyn 19:42, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Could it be that some trees in the US are being posted, instead of being planted? -- relet 20:08, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Maybe we should ask these people. "Dear Madam or Sir. Could you please explain to my curious self the benefits of your posted signs over regular non-posted signs." -- relet 20:17, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
relet, I think it used to be "In order to be men, men have to write a book, have a kid, plant a tree." Today, it's "In order to be men, men have to write a book, have a kid, post a tree." Heck, life is fast, nobody has time, and it takes friggin' ages 'till a tree grows. Growing trees is sooo 1968 and sooo totally hippie crap. Posting trees is just so much more efficient.--Zb 09:26, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

After reading the T-shirts discussion, I think POSTED belongs on one :-)

Ha, ha: "POSTED: Adventure Capitalist", "POSTED: Do not fear. This person is from the internet and does not intend to cause any harm to people, animals or plants."--Zb 09:26, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Seriously, I think there's some stupid legal thing about trespassing / private property law, where a sign has to be "posted", but there is no legal definition for "posting", so no-trespassing signs have to say "posted" on them to be legally binding. -- Jevanyn 20:53, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
