From Geohashing

Wait, did you get to the coordinates, or did you only get 1521' away? I sympathize if the latter, I did a similar distance walk hash and didn't get there, because I took the wrong road, aaaarrrgh! -Robyn 18:42, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- If you look at the tracklog, you can see that he got at least as close as 25 m. --ilpadre 19:09, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- Couldn't stand on the Hashpoint as it was inaccessible (see the 5th pic on the gallery). The G1 grab was taken before just because I happened to check out how far it was to go and took a photo, and didn't think to get another once I got there, stupidly enough (and also as you can see I was having problems with reflection, and resigned to poor quality). No problems if it doesn't qualify - I didn't even realise it would be a stand-out distance! --norsemark 19:19, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- I guess it's up to you to decide how rigid you want to be, and thus if you got there. If you reached it, choose Category:Coordinates reached and if not, use Category: Coordinates not reached and Category:Not reached - Mother Nature. Plus, in either case, Category:Expeditions and Category:Expeditions with photos. Oh yes, we love categories. :-) -Robyn 19:26, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- Good work, thanks for the tips. Appreciated. MNB I certainly am. I guess this just leaves me with the motivation to do it properly next time! Not reached - official.
- That's kind of what it sounded like, but I didn't want to be negative about someone's first geohash. It's still pretty awesome. Most people bike or take transit if it's more than a few kilometres. -Robyn 19:35, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I'm not a crazy mad walker, but I do enjoy it and... well it took best part of 2 hours in public transport to get back, so actually walking wasn't really all that intensive! And at least now I have something to beat! -NorseMark 19:46, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
An amazing expedition, a nice report and a great first attempt. Congraticulations. :) -- relet 21:26, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
